Finally was able to catch up with Patrick Lawler to get his write-up on his viral “GoPro HD – Skimboarding In A Storm” that we featured last week. He’s been busy with school and different creative projects (that we hope to feature in the future), he’s been kind of enough to put together this short write-up.

Here is his write-up:
The tools I used were one GoPro HD camera one GoPro bike mount clamp and one swiffer mop handle.
The whole concept was basically my friend calling me and saying “Hey bro it’s raining hella hard lets go out and film me skimboarding while the swells are super choppy and huge”
At first I said no because I didn’t want to bring my HVX out in the rain, and then I remembered I have gopro. So we mounted it to the swiffer handle and took it out.
I originally didn’t plan on going in the water but I got taken out by a wave (which you can see at the end of the movie) and I said screw it, and went out into the ocean in my jeans and a t-shirt.
It was tons of fun, lots of wetness, and really cold, but obviously totally worth it.
