Friend to digital cinema foundry Patrick Lawler and often featured on dcf has just completed his 2011 demo reel. There is a lot of power in a demo reel. If you’re applying for a job in our industry and don’t have a demo reel your resume will go straight to the bottom of the list of applicants or even worse in the trash. So we are featuring Patrick’s demo because it features a broad variety in terms of content material, lighting, cameras, composition etc that we can learn from. If you’ve shot enough content material in a year you should update your demo reel every year that way you’re reel is current and fresh. If a job comes up or an employment opportunity arises you’ll be able to either send an email link of your reel or burn your reel to DVD to give in person. Happy shooting!
